For any fan of Peanuts, now you can read about Charles Schulz’ life in this new biography called Schulz and Peanuts, written by David Michaelis.
The book is a tome, finishing at 672 pages, and running for $34.95. Harper Collins is the publisher. If ordered on Amazon, however, you can have an immediate discount, saving you $11.88.
The book talks about the creation of his comic strip but also that Schulz himself was unhappy and suffered from depression. The book takes you back to his Minnesota childhood where creativity was not encouraged. (Big surprise).
Many Peanuts strips are included in the bio as a means of showing how much of his own life went into his comic.
Publisher’s Weekly has said, “This is a fascinating account of an artist who devoted his life to his work in the painful belief that it was all he had.”
