New novel considered ‘pop thriller for the Internet Age’
By M&C News Jun 19, 2007, 15:12 GMT

Matt Richtel has been called "the bard of the iPod generation,” upon the publication of his first novel, Hooked: A Thriller About Love and Other Addictions. It is a book that Booklist has described as, “a shrewd cinematic thriller, filled with knowing insights about San Francisco, Silicon Valley, and the wired-wireless world.”
The story involves a writer with a medical degree who manages to survive an explosion while in an Internet café after someone hands him a note with scribbled handwriting that belongs to none other than his dead girlfriend. From there begins the chase, one that will keep readers ‘hooked’ until the very last page.
Richtel is a reporter for The New York Times, and published by Twelve Books, the novel finishes at 304 pages. Those who are interested in learning more about Hooked should check out the official website for details.
