Oprah is peeved at papa Winfrey
By M&C News May 24, 2007, 10:22 GMT
Oprah Winfrey says she was “stunned” to learn her father plans to author a book about her. At first when she heard the news, she laughed when one of her assistants told her New York’s Daily News was calling to ask about a book Vernon Winfrey was writing. She called him and was surprised to find out the report was true.
"I said, `That's impossible. I can assure them it's not true,'" Winfrey said. "... I called him and it turned out he is writing a book. The worst part of it was him saying, `I meant to tell you I've been working on it.'"
Vernon Winfrey works as a barber in Nashville, and Winfrey credits him for imposing discipline and the importance of an education. "I would have preferred to have known my father was working on this. It would have been a nice gesture, a courtesy," she said. The Daily News says Vernon Winfrey plans to call his book Things Unspoken.

Oprah feel bad, how could anyone blame her. She feels betrayed. In defense of her dad, the media almost forces people into doing things that they ordinarily would not do. Money is probably the force. It's a shame.
