Gullible fans fall for Harry Potter Hoax
By M&C News May 10, 2007, 16:04 GMT
Since the announcement of book seven’s release, there have been rumors floating around the Internet that somehow Rowling’s book leaked online. Most, however, could determine by the clunky prose style that the writing was not Rowling’s, but an impostor. Now it has been revealed that a fan posted his or her own 250,000 word online version of the last chapter of Rowling's saga, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. While most believed it to be untrue, some fans, including some of the die-hard webmasters, had been questioning it.
The hoax features a happy ending with Harry marrying his sweetheart Ginny Weasley, has resulted in an angry response from the publishers.
"We are aware of the Internet version, but it is not the real thing,” a spokeswoman for the company said. Well, duh. "People will have to wait until July 21," she added.
The seventh book in the series is said to have already gained 1 million pre-orders worldwide. So what do they really have to complain about?

I don't see what the big deal is all about. It's just a book, an over rated, hyped up kid's book at that. There are more important things...why can't the kids who were fooled wait in line at midnight the second it comes out like all the others?
