London - Harry Potter has revealed one of his final secrets. British author JK Rowling on Thursday disclosed the title of the seventh and final book in her series: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Rowling had hidden the title on her official website, and visitors to the site had to play an online game to find out what it was, Britain's BBC news channel reported. US publisher Scholastic confirmed the title in a statement.
Rowling said in a posting on her website that she is still working on the eagerly anticipated finale of the series.
'I'm now writing scenes that have been planned, in some cases, for a dozen years or even more,' she wrote. 'I don't think anyone who has not been in a similar situation can possibly know how this feels: I am alternately elated and overwrought. I both want, and don't want, to finish this book (don't worry, I will.)'
The author had already indicated that two characters would be killed off in the final book. She did not rule out that one of the two would be the lead character, Potter himself.
Harry Potter books have been translated into more than 60 languages and have sold more than 300 million copies around the world. The first four books have been made into films which have grossed more than 3.5 billion dollars at the box office.
Forbes estimated Rowlings' wealth at more than 1 billion dollars, making her the first person ever to become a billionaire from writing books.
No publication date was given for the final book, which details Potter's last year at Hogwarts magic school.

rowling i am really delighted that you have written your last book . and i hope that harry, hermione and ron doesnt die.you are really wonderfull in imagining i really wish that voldemort dies
i really love reading your books they are extremely good .
i am a small kid and i love when my mother reads to me your books please release your last book
these are my favorite novels of all time,im sure these books will enchant readers for many many years
I think that world will be unhappy if the long line of books ends here. Please people, don't kill each other over a book!!!
Im gona cry if she kills off Harry!
i am wondering if harry must die in order to be able to be strong enough to kill voldemort. i mean, no living person has had luck killing the v man. i wonder if harry will be even stronger if he dies to beat voldemort. that way he can get inside his head and soul and destroy him from within. just a crazy thought.
i really love the books and the films and ive been crazed on HP since i was like 6 or 7 and i dont want any of the characters to die but i predict that either ron or hermione will sacrifice themself to save harry but thats my guess :)
I really really really love the Harry Potter books !!!! I havn't read a book that is better ... I cant wait to read the Deathly Hallows book because all the loose ends and secrets of what has been going on in the previous books will be revealed.
Here is a question i would like to ask:-
HOW DOES DUMBLEDORE KNOW ALL THE DETAILS ABOUT LILLY AND JAMES POTTERS DEATH IF NOBODY WAS THERE TO WITNESS IT ??
AND HOW COME DUMBLEDORE HAD JAMES POTTERS INVISABILITY CLOAK ???
WAS HE ACTUALLY THERE AT THE TIME OF THEIR DEATH,AND IF SO WHY DID HE NOT STOP VOLDEMORT ??
Also I im sure that Harry Potter could be the final horcrux.
Because if you think about it a horcrux is when a bit of your soal is passed on to an object, and harry has felt feelings that voldemort has felt ... could this be a connection ???
Also you need to kill sombody in order to make a horcrux and the same night this could of happened lilly and james were killed.
also Hagrid has said to Harry the scar on his forehead is no ordinary scar it is from a evil curse
so i will leave you all to think about my suggestions xx

'The author had already indicated that two characters would be killed off in the final book'
What she actually said was the two people she did not intend to die when she first wrote the outline for the stories would die, and that one got a reprieve. She has hinted that there would be many deaths in the book, not just two.
