Frankfurt - Book-loving members of the public thronged the fifth and final day of the Frankfurt Book Fair in search of a bargain Sunday.
The organizers said that some 74,000 people visited the vast Frankfurt exhibition site on Saturday when the doors were first thrown open to the public. A smaller number was expected Sunday.
The first three days of the fair which opened Tuesday attracted some 153,360 trade visitors, about 2,000 fewer than in 2005.

The 58th edition of the fair saw 7,272 exhibitors from 113 countries display almost 400,000 titles while India as Guest of Honour country promoted its culture and literature.
On Sunday the annual Peace Prize of the German Book Trade was to be awarded to German intellectual Wolf Lepenies, and Guest of Honour status officially handed over to 'Catalan Culture,' which will be honoured at the 2007 event.
