Rowling says Potter finale 'coming along nicely'
Mar 30, 2006, 11:44 GMT
London - JK Rowling, author of the Harry Potter books, said the final volume in the series was 'coming along nicely' as she collected yet another award for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, published last July.
The book, the penultimate in the seven-volume series, received the accolade of Book of the Year at the British Book Awards Wednesday evening.
It beat competition from TV cook Jamie Oliver (Jamie's Italy) and an autobiography by Sharon Osbourne, the wife of ex-rocker Ozzy Osbourne.
Rowling, 40, whose 300 million worldwide book sales have made her a multi-millionaire, said: 'I'm delighted that Harry Potter continues to give so much pleasure to adults and children, and I'm honoured to receive this award.
'I am enjoying writing the last book in the series and it's coming along nicely,' she added.
