If your mind is already in the gutter then pick it up, dust it off and read up. Ever hosted a wine tasting party, purchased diamonds, gone backpacking or on a group trip to Europe? If you answered no to one of these questions then you’re a virgin, don’t worry, we’re all virgins at something and that’s where this little book comes in handy.

The introduction likens this guide to having a knowledgeable big sister at your side and features advice from a collection of “go-to” girls.  Divided into ten sections covering a broad range of topics from entertaining and dating to work and money this provides enough key information to get one pointed in the right direction. If you are looking for a comprehensive guide, look elsewhere as this publication is meant to provide the sometimes elusive first thread although a few sections like bra fitting and what to look for when purchasing a diamond are surprisingly thorough.

There are some notable though understandable gaps to be aware of. You won’t find information about purchasing a car or how to figure out your insurance needs for example but overall this upbeat, slightly eccentric guide that will elicit a smile while it enlightens. .
