Jess’s Book Club Pick for June: I Am Legend by Richard Matheson

Yes I know this has been made into a very popular film, one of which I’ve not seen. But here’s the thing: the book the film is taken from is a great book.

So that’s why I wanted to pick it for this month. This book isn’t just about mere “vampires” but it also touches upon the deeper elements of human loneliness and isolation.
Tor Books is the publisher of this reissued edition, but there are a number of different versions of the book you could obtain.
It’s also a shorter work and would be a good one to kick off the summer. So, despite the popularity this book has received this previous year, I’m still choosing this classic because it’s not just a great work of sci-fi, but a great work of literature as well.
