The spectacular arc by writer Mike Carey and artist Jae Lee continued a proud tradition by introducing the First Family of comics to the Ultimate Universe a deadly new villain, the Thinker.
"The Fantastic Four really have stepped off the edge of the superhero genre into actual myth. Writing them feels like adding a single brick to a wall that's already way up out of the atmosphere,” Carey said in a Marvel press release. “And in their Ultimate versions, you get the added weirdness of adding bricks to the base of the wall, rather than the top. It was a huge blast."
Marvel Editor in Chief Joe Quesada proclaimed, "This is really turning out to be the year of the Fab Four, not the Beatles of course but the Fantastic Four. Not only are the FF certified movie stars, not only is the Straczynski FF a certifiable hit, but Ultimate FF issues 19-20 by Mike Carey and Jae Lee are certifiably SOLD OUT! Mike and Jae did astellar job with this two issue fill in arc and fans and retailers have noticed, kudos to the entire team!"
Ultimate FF #21 is on sale July 13th and available with two covers (MAY051750 and APR058305) for twice the excitement! Visit Marvel Comics for more information on this and other titles.
