Hack/Slash coming to limited mini-series
This November Devil’s Due unleashes Hack/Slash: Land of Lost Toys. The comic will be a three-issue series with each issue featuring 32 pages – previous Hack/Slash titles have been limited double sized one-shot issues.
Writer Tim Seeley continues his full color twisted and comedic tales, and has hand picked artist Dave Crosland (Puffed, and Bad Ideas with Jim Mahfood) for the artwork. Cover art features the talents of Stefano Caselli (G.I.Joe).
"I'm psyched to get to do a 3 issue mini series,” said Seeley in a press release. “It allows me a lil 'more room for twisted weirdness, hyper violence, and a lil' bit of characterization here and there."
Hack/Slash: Land of Lost Toys - In Mt. Healthy, Ohio, children are dying in their dreams, falling victim to twisted versions of their own toys! It's up to Cassie, Vlad and a 23-year-old toy collector to stop a demented dream killer before he turns playtime into a deadly nightmare!
Vlad reveals his dark history! That's right, no need to wait 30 years for the origin of our bad-ass mystery man! What makes the gas-mask-wearing, master of machetes tick?
"Dave Crosland is really knocking this one out of the park.” Seeley added in the release. “He and (colorist) Katie DeSousa make a great team, and I think the visuals they're creating are absolutely perfect for the feel of this story."
Hack/Slash: First Cut Trade Paperback, (Diamond Code: JUL052786, ISBN: 1-932796-42-8), collecting the first three one shot stories Euthanized, Girls Gone Dead, Comic Book Carnage, a new story Slashing through the Snow, and an introduction by Craig Thompson (Blankets) will hit shelves end of September with 160 pages of fun for $14.95.
