is there a sequal to that book it just cut off i wanted ot know what happend with the 2end phone pulse?
not a fan of reading books but this defintiely caught my eye when i saw it in cosco and i bought it i have been reading books eversince mr. king will ther be a sequel or a movie make of this would like to know plz make public statement thanxs
Theres already a movie based on this book......its called 'The Pulse'....although it doesnt quiet follow Clay Riddell's adventure. Concept is equally the same.
Stephen King is starting to believe his own bullshit that he is a 'great' author. The novel Cell was weak, no plot, under-developed characters that when any depth was hinted - were removed from the book.
The ending (?) left so much to be desired. Wonder what King was smoking (or otherwise) when he got half-way through this shameful waste of paper.
I agree, this book would make a fantastic movie. It would be huge done right!!
The movie Pulse, is completly different.
first off i just wanted to say that when it ended the way it did i was really upset though it was a great cliff hanger i would really like to find out wat happened but i would say it would be a great move by mr king cuz he wouldnt have much to go off besides telling wat happens to clays son also i do agree this book is made for the movies
im not finished with this book but the mist(recent by s.k.) ended in a cliff hanger also.
I normally read kinky lesbian informational books. but this one is cool too i guess.
I just finished this book and sad to say, I was sorely disappointed. I'm usually a great fan of SK, but not this time. Cell phones driving people insane is a fantastic premise for a book, but from the point of exodus on, the book fails to answer many questions. I understand that SK is a horror writer, but he still could have included more than just an allusion to real world pranksters being responsible for this brave new world. I was also really disappointed in the climax, which was just yet another explosion...big deal! From Ray's death my interest in the book was renewed, only to find that this final plan was already deployed three times. SKI should have concentrated more on the 'worm' and what was happening to the people receiving the mutated signal. A more global or at least national approach would also have been nice, since cell phones are used around the world. But my biggest disappointment was not finding out what happened to Clay's son. The last part of the book seemed like something SK rushed through, since he had focused so much of Clay's character on finding him. Additionally, SK could have hinted at the aftermath of the Pulse, but we are left with nothing. I thought at first that this book was The Stand, version 2.0, but The Stand was far more interesting, detailed, and PLAUSABLE of all things. Oh, well. Its ok to have a few duds, especially when so many of his novels are really good.
I liked this book up into the ending. what ending?? That sucked!
I will agree, i dont believe this was King's best work and the ending did leave a lot to be desired but i wouldnt go as far as Andrew did (seriously who do you think you are Mr. big shot?) Anyway a movie following the exact plot would be great just hope there is a better developed ending
tHIS BOOK WAS SO AMAMAZING
I just finished reading Cell and I have to say that I liked it and did not like it. SK usual character development was lacking, and I, like others, felt there was not enough questions answered. Who was responsible?, I would have liked to know that. The ending at first disappointed me, but after I thought about it I liked it because it was different. He did the same thing in Pet Sematary. Not his best novel for sure, but I would not go as far as saying that Mr. King believes his own bs. What SK is is a great storyteller.
I thought this book was great. It kept me on me toes the whole time, and I couldn't put it down. Everytime I did, I found myself picking it right back up because the suspense was KILLING me! However, the ending was almost shameful. It was almost like a cop-out because SK didn't know what to write next. I've never been so upset at the end of a book. On the other hand, I DO think it would make great movie (with the help of a better conclusion, of course!)
I dont get the ending? Somebody please tell me what the heck dec24,2004 Oct 17, 2005 means !

The book is made for the big screen. An interesting twist on a long;lived theme related to fear of technology.
