Book Review: No More Angels

The majority of these previously published short stories challenge readers with a fresh, decidedly different take on everyday life as seen through the eyes of the ordinary, sometimes extraordinary Joe trying to get through the daily grind. A widower’s mental stability collapses under the weight of his responsibilities, an old lady discovers the joys of vulgar language, a railroad ticket vender sees a steady stream of mourners on their way to Lockerbie and a widower does what she can to get through another long, empty day. These are but a sample of the unusual, often melancholy stories where the lines between life, death and insanity tend to blur and while not the most uplifting collection available but certainly one of the more interesting.
