Katy Perry's parents were so unnerved by offending the Lord, they banished anything prefaced by the word "Devil."

Immediately my mind went to the childhood creme-filled treat so many of us grew up with: Drake's Cakes, specifically, the health-conscious Devil Dog, that delicious hot dog shaped treat that had the least amount of calories and fat compare to the Ring Ding, Yodel and Funny Bone.
Perry spills her horrific abusive childhood tales of no Devil Dogs, Deviled Eggs or even having a "Devil of a time" with her homework, as Katy's Evangelical parents were Hell-bent on keeping the Devil out of the details.
"I didn't have a childhood," Perry told Vanity Fair, as Reuters got a nice preview and excerpt ahead of the pack. "I come from a very non-accepting family, but I'm very accepting."
"Sometimes when children grow up, their parents grow up," she said. "Mine grew up with me. We coexist. I don't try to change them anymore, and I don't think they try to change me. We agree to disagree. They're excited about (my success)."
Perry, 26, has made up for lost Devil may care youth by jumping right into fame and stardom on a rocket ship of Lesbian flirtations (I Kissed a Girl) and marrying the biggest puss hound on the planet: Russell Brand.
Katy even had to sweep the floor as her cruel parents banished the "Dirt Devil" vacuum, making the Perry home an Amish-like Hell-hole of very few modern conveniences.
Katy is up for anything these days when it comes to religion, and tells Vanity Fair: "My sponge is so big and wide and I'm soaking everything up and my mind has been radically expanded. Just being around different cultures and people and their opinions and perspectives. Just looking into the sky."
