Twitter has once again snared a celebrity faux pas and cost them money.

Courtney Love was sued and lost over her defamatory Twitter feed, and now Gottfried has lost a job with AFLAC, the insurance company.
There's an expression comics use when joking about sensitive issues - "too soon?"
This truism in comedy circles bit Gilbert Gottfried in his AFLAC over some ill-timed Japan Tweets.

Gottfried was fired as the voice of its duck mascot after his controversial series of tweets about the earthquake in Japan circulated. The Tweets have since been removed from his Twitter account.
AFLAC released a statement: "Gilbert’s recent comments about the crisis in Japan were lacking in humor and certainly do not represent the thoughts and feelings of anyone at AFLAC ... AFLAC will immediately set plans in motion to conduct a nationwide casting call to find a new voice of the iconic AFLAC Duck."
