Back in my Houston, Texas music days, I crossed paths with Charlie Daniels, who was a class act and kind as could be.

Charlie is in the news today, after suffering a mild stroke while on holiday.
Often times people pen kind things when it is too late for the subject to see just how much they meant to the author, but this is an open get-well card and ode to our Charlie, who can out-fiddle the Devil and who still puts on an amazing live performance, well into his senior years.
Daniels, 73, is reportedly recovering from a mild stroke he allegedly suffered while snowmobiling in Colorado this past Friday.
Charlie, snowmobiling? This is the time in your life to discover the exhilarating world of Curling. It's the only Olympic sport where drinking gives you an edge.
Daniels is a uniquely American artist, a genius fiddler and guitarist, who is well known for 1979 hit The Devil Went Down to Georgia.
