Bjork Left Overwhelmed by Fan’s Response to Charity Single

Icelandic singer Bjork invited her fans to remix hit 1995 single Army Of Me to raise funds for the United Nation’s Children’s Fund (UNICEF) – and she was overwhelmed by the response she received.

The ground-breaking songwriter posted the request on her website and was quickly inundated with more than 600 re-worked versions of the track – she listened to every single version before choosing her favourite 20.

The 39-year-old says, “I had no idea that so many people were so busy in their bedrooms!

“Remixes are interesting because they are a particular brand of collaboration. It was like I was the songwriter and all these people were the arrangers and interpreters. I liked the anonymity of it.”
