DKNY 2012 came and went as designer Donna Karan showed off her line’s A/W’12 collection on day four of New York Fashion Week.
The runway show featured the NYC skyline as the show was dedicated to the ‘true New Yorker’.
Featured were fitted double breasted coats, fur (faux) jackets and wide belts. The sleeves were black leather and exposed zippers fur collars and detailing that set the collection above the rest.
The show’s VIP was “Twilight” star Ashley Greene.
Fashionistas can take their accessories down a few notches as the look was minimal, with ‘blackout legs’ in opaque tights giving the base look.
Eveningwear was ultra feminine with maxi-dresses in jewel colors.
The look of makeup was also minimal, but Emmy award winning makeup artist Melanie Mills, in New York designing and running the makeup for Concept Fashion week, tells Monsters and Critics the look for makeup is a powerful lip in richly pigmented colors. Eyes, according to Mills, are “lash-y” with a well placed strip lash or individuals and the lids carved in a clean palette of smoky tones. “I introduced the new Lip Radiance as the second product launch in my makeup line GLEAM by Melanie Mills, with these rich colors in mind, plus nude-y basics ‘Naked’ and ‘Pop My Cork’ in the warm and cool families to cover every mood, bold to demure, in lip color.”
