From Monsters and Critics.com Arts News New York: The new revival of Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof has extended its limited run at the Broadhurst Theater. Originally set to close on April 15th, the production will now end on June 15th. In addition to the extension, a cast change has been announced. Boris Kodjoe will take over the role of Brick for six weeks while Terrence Howard leaves the production for a prior contractual commitment to the Marvel Enterprises/Paramount Pictures release of Iron Man in which he stars. He will rejoin the production on May 23rd. Starring in the play is Anika Noni Rose as Maggie the Cat, Terrence Howard as her drunken husband Brick, Phylicia Rashad as Big Mama, James Earl Jones as Big Daddy, Lisa Arrindell-Anderson as Mae, Giancarlo Esposito as Gooper, Lou Meyers as Rev. Tooker, and Count Stoval as Doctor Baugh. The Broadway run of the African-American production of Tennessee Williams' play, directed by Debbie Allen, will begin previews at the Broadhurst on February 12, 2008 and officially open on March 6th. The creative team will include set design by Ray Klausen, lighting design by William Grant, and costume design by Jane Greenwood.
