New York: Three Days of Rain and the Broadway debut of Julia Roberts ends today. Her debut turned out to be commercially succesful, having virtually sold out its run, but critically a failure. The play was panned all around, and netted only two technical Tony nominations.

Starring opposite Roberts is Paul Rudd and Bradley Cooper.

The creative team features direction by Joe Mantello, scenic and costume design by Santo Loquasto, and lighting design by Paul Gallo.

In Three Days of Rain two siblings (Roberts and Rudd) and their childhood friend (Cooper) meet to settle the estates of their late fathers, and search for clues to understand what went on between them decades earlier. In the second act, the story shifts to the earlier time as the actors portray their parents, and the true secrets amoung them are revealed.

Three Days of Rain was first produced Off-Broadway at Manhattan Theater Club in 1997 starring Patricia Clarkson.
