The play, directed by Joe Mantello, is set to begin previews at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theater on March 28, 2006 and officially open on April 19th for a limited 12 week run through June 18th. The creative team includes scenic and costume design by Santo Loquasto, and lighting design by Paul Gallo. Cooper currently stars in the television series Kitchen Confidential and has appeared in such movies as The Wedding Crashers and Changing Lanes. Rudd starred on Friends for two seasons as Phoebe's love, and in such recent films as The 40 Year Old Virgin and Anchorman. On Broadway he has appeared in Twelfth Night and The Last Night of Ballyhoo. In Three Days of Rain two siblings (Roberts and Rudd) and their childhood friend (Cooper) meet to settle the estates of their late fathers, and search for clues to understand what went on between them decades earlier. In the second act, the story shifts to the earlier time as the actors portray their parents, and the true secrets amoung them are revealed. Three Days of Rain was first produced Off-Broadway at Manhattan Theater Club in 1997 starring Patricia Clarkson.
