What happened to David Norona? We saw Jersy Boys at the La Jolla Playhouse three (3) times mainly because of his performance. We were planning to go to New York to see it again, but since David Norona is not performing, we're not going. Needless to say, we are very disappointed. Please let us know why David Norona was not cast as Frankie Valli. Thank you.
Looks like David Norona will be starring in a new NBC TV series called 'Inconceivble.' He'll be playing an attorney working in a fertility clinic.
Those of you who saw David play Frankie in La Jolla 3 times would be foolish not to give John Lloyd Young a chance by seeing him play Frankie on Broadway. I thought David was amazing too, and was upset he would not be coming to NY for various personal reasons, but I saw John Lloyd Young audition for the part and I do beleive he may top David's performance. You'll be sorry if you miss it.
That's good news about Norona's replacement & looking forward to seeing Young on Broadway.
Does anyone have any idea when the tickets will go on sale? Do you think it's going to be tough to get tickets? Any suggestions as to the best place to try to obtain tickets for someone coming from the West Coast?
I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!
Its my understanding that the tickets for 'Jersey Boys' go on sale September 11. They have a website, something like www.JerseyBoysBroadway.com Previews begin around October 3rd with the opening on November 6th. Opening night is by invitation only. Not sure about the best place to buy tickets or what the options will be for purchasing tickets. It is playing at the Virginia Theatre. Rehearsals start this month. Looking forward to seeing it in New York. Saw it many times in La Jolla, but will miss David Norona. What a talent! Don't forget to watch him next month in the new NBC series, 'Inconceivable,' which starts Friday, September 23rd at 10pm.
David wanted to take the part so bad but his voice was taking a major beating from the La Jolla run. Between shows he would often walk around with a chalkboard to communicate to preserve his voice.
I read that Jersey Boys will begin a national tour in Dec 2006. Is there a way to know what cities it will tour through?
I saw Jersey Boys 4 times in calif. and now once in New York. Mr. young was good and I'm happy for Jersey boys for all their tony awards. But for a old timer who's been going to the theather for 40 yrs. David Norona was the most outstanding performer, could act, sing and melt your heart. His soul came throught his performace. I hope you keep us in touch with where we can see him. I knew Jersey Boys would be a hit..
If you were fortunate enough to see Jersey Boys at the La Jolla Playhouse, you saw a better show. The Tonys are well deserved, but the original production with Norona was by far a superior production. No question.
