Keith Carradine To Play George W. Bush
By Amy Somensky Apr 18, 2005, 14:40 GMT
Los Angeles, CA: Keith Carradine has joined the U.S production of David Hare's Stuff Happens. Carradine will play President George W. Bush.
He will join Julian Sands as UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, Dakin Matthews as Vice President Dick Cheney, and Lorraine Toussaint as Condoleeza Rice.
The play, about the leadup to the Iraq War, will open on May 25th at Los Angeles' Mark Taper Forum Theater. It received good reviews after opening at London's National Theater last year.
Stuff Happens is based on a comment U.S Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld made in 2003 when asked about looting in Iraq. Rumsfeld replied. "stuff happens...and it's untidy, and free people are free to make mistakes and commit crimes and do bad things."
