The Wedding Singer Musical in 2006

The movie follows a singer, (Sandler) who performs the hits of the 1980s at weddings, and his quest for love. The film featured songs such as Hold Me Now, Do You Really Want to Hurt Me, Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic, Rappers Delight and White Wedding
The new musical version will premiere at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theater beginning January 31, 2006 for a run until February 19th. It is then set move to New York in April where it will begin its Broadway run.
There is no word on casting as yet, but in earlier readings of the musical Steve Lynch has played the title role. A March reading featured Alli Mauzey as Julia, Amy Spanger as Holly, Felicia Finley as Linda, Matt Saldivar as Sammy, Daniel Reichard as George, Jason Antoon as Jimmy, Rita Gardner as Rosie, and Richard Blake as Glen.
