Chicago, ILSweet CharityA show spokesperson said, "Christina's doctors are optimistic that she'll be back in time for the first Broadway preview on April 4."As previously reported, Applegate injured herself during the opening scene of the musical when she swings on a lampost. The production spokesperson said Christina heard her foot snap during the scene, and that it wasn't until almost twenty minutes later that she decided she could no longer go on, and understudy Dylis Croman stepped in.d'Amboise was on stage in New York performing the role of Roxie Hart in Chicago when she got the word that she would be needed. It was previously reported that d'Amboise would appear in the final two Chicago performances, but instead Croman will finish the run while d'Amboise prepares to take the stage from March 18th - 27th at the Boston tryout.Sweet Charity begins previews on Broadway on April 4th and officially opens on April 21st.In Sweet Charity, Charity Hope Valentine is a taxi dancer with a heart of gold.
