Hey, I was at that show. The understudy also played the evening show on March 12th. The broadway actress that was supposed to play hasn't showed. The understudy has had 2 standing ovations in the 3 shows that she's done since.
I was at the Saturday matinee. Dylis Coman, Christina Applegate's under study, was excellent, as most understudues are. They are the one's who work hard, appear in many shows, but don't headline because they do not have a 'name'. Personally, I'd rather see talent than a name.
Dylis Croman was fantastic! I can't imagine that Christine could have been any better. She got a standing ovation so the audience must have agreed.
EVERYONE on the show works hard. EVERYONE does the same rehearsals.
With all due respect, I have seen Christina in that show, and she did not perform well. Are we sure that she hurt her foot and wasn't just fired? A bad production needs a scapegoat.
