Still from the US production of the show
Another Christian organization is seeking to take legal action against the BBC over their airing of Jerry Springer: The Opera.
Reports on the public broadcaster's Web site say The Christian Institute is looking for a judicial review of the corporation’s decision to screen the show, which the group says is blasphemous.
A spokesman for the group told the BBC: "Genuine religious debate and criticism is one thing, but this show is an offensive, spiteful, systematic mockery and willful denigration of Christian belief."
They are the second such organization to pursue the BBC in court, with Christian Voice announcing its intentions last week.
The show prompted tens of thousands of complaints over scenes of alleged blasphemy involving Jesus in a nappy and a swearing competition between him and the devil.
Meanwhile the west-end production is closing in February as they prepare to go on a tour of the UK after the summer.
