Sean Astin to be King of New Orleans Carnival Parade

The parade features all kinds of elaborate floats

The Lord of the RingsBacchusAstin, following in the footsteps of co-star Elijah Wood in 2004, will lead what is one of the biggest parades of the season. As King of Bacchus he will join Wood and together they will ride on one of the 30 plus floats that form the parade.The Krewe of Bacchus parade was founded in 1968 by a handful of New Orleans business leaders whose dream was to revitalize Carnival. However, the seeds of the Krewe of Bacchus were actually sown two decades before the present carnival organization was founded in a Carnival parade on Feb. 6.This year the parade is on Super Bowl Sunday and will feature a float for each of the NFL franchises, according to Owen Brennan, who is Captain of the Krew of Bacchus.For further details you can visit the offical site of the parade via this link.
