Multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers will perform a rare intimate club show Wednesday, August 24 at L.A. LIVE’s Club Nokia to benefit the Silverlake Conservatory Of Music.

This is the latest fundraiser for The Conservatory and all proceeds from the event will continue to fund the school’s operating costs, along with a scholarship program which is designed to offer music education to children who could not otherwise afford lessons.

Flea, the Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist, co-founded (with Keith Barry) the Silverlake Conservatory of Music in 2001 and the band’s lead singer Anthony Kiedis sits on its board of directors

“That my career is something I believe in with all my heart, is an incredible gift,” Flea says.  “To direct the energy of that work to help out the school which I also believe in with the intensity and have nurtured for the past ten years is a transcendent double doozy of greatness.  We are going to rock our balls off for the Silverlake Conservatory of Music, like a pack of wild animals!”

The Conservatory is a non-profit organization created to fill a void in the cultural landscape of the community. It offers the people of the Silverlake area the opportunity to study music with exceptional teachers at a reasonable price.

It grants scholarships to deserving children providing free lessons and instruments.   The faculty of Silverlake Conservatory of Music is comprised of professional teachers and musicians each with many years of experience. Their approach to teaching is low stress and emphasizes growth.
