Joan Benedict Steiger to receive Eternity Award at Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival

The Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival will honor Joan Benedict Steiger with the the Eternity Award for her exceptional career and life achievements at their Opening Night Gala at the Electric Lodge in Venice on Thursday, March 24.

The Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival will honor Joan Benedict Steiger with the the Eternity Award for her exceptional career and life achievements at their Opening Night Gala at the Electric Lodge in Venice on Thursday, March 24.

Steiger’s stage credits include “Promises, Promises,”  “The Beauty Queen of Leenane,” “Collected Stories,” ”The Octette Bridge Club,” “The Traveling Lady,” “The World Is Made of Glass,” “The Mind With the Dirty Man,” “Richard III,” “Dr. Faustus,” “The Dybbuk” and her one-woman show “Leona,” in which she played hotelier Leona Helmsley.

 

Her long television career began in the medium’s early days, when she was a member of the original ensemble of “The Steve Allen Show,” followed by continuing roles on several daytime dramas and dozens of series guest appearances.

Her dozen feature films include starring roles in two films opposite her late husband, Rod Steiger.

Additionally, Suzanna Guzman will receive the Maverick Award, Velina Hasu Houston will receive the Rainbow Award and Charmaine Jefferson will receive the Integrity Award at the event
