Kate Moss is to be the subject of a major new exhibition.

France's Musee des Arts Decoratifs is set to commemorate the British supermodel's 19-year career, in an attempt to "decode the phenomenon" Kate, 34, has become.

Museum director Beatrice Salmon said: "This is an occasion to ask a certain number of experts in image and communications to explain why and how Kate has become someone the whole world knows."

The model - who has reportedly split from boyfriend Jamie Hince - has given her blessing to the project, which will run from November 2009 to April 2010.

A museum spokesperson said: "Kate Moss has agreed to cooperate, to collaborate on the exhibit. The show will concentrate on her life, her career - and be a celebration of her 19 years. We hope she will be there for the launch."

Because of Kate's involvement, the museum has been able to source photographs to display from the early days of her career, when she was discovered by talent scouts aged just 14.

Curator-in-chief Pamela Golbin explained: "We're working out what is available, but her modelling agency has kept hold of absolutely everything she's done from the very beginning, including archive material from two decades ago."

Meanwhile, a self-portrait of Kate painted in lipstick is to be sold at auction in London on Saturday (27.09.08).

Expected to fetch between £30,000 and £40,000, the picture is marked with Kate's own lip prints and stains of her former boyfriend Pete Doherty's blood.

Although not signed, the painting has been inscribed, "Who needs blood when you've got lipstick?" by the Babyshambles rocker and comes with a receipt of sale made out on a napkin from Pete, who originally owned the painting.

At the same auction, a self-portrait print by the 'Killamangiro' singer inscribed with, "Look what they have done to the boy," and signed in blood is expected to fetch between £8,000 and £10,000.
