Sweeney Todd tour opens today

Boston: The national tour of Sweeney Todd kicks off today at The Colonial Theatre in Boston.
Starring in the production is David Hess in the title role, Judy Kaye as Mrs. Lovett, Keith Buterbaugh as The Judge, Lauren Molina as Johanna, John Arbo as Jonas Fogg, Katrina Yaukey as Pirelli, Diana DiMarzio as Beggar Woman, Edmund Bagnelli as Tobias Ragg, Benjamin Eakeley as The Beadle, and Benjamin Magnuson as Anthony Hope.
Sweeney Todd features music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by Hugh Wheeler. John Doyle directs.
Sweeney Todd is based on the legend of a London barber who is driven to crime when a judge takes his wife and child from him. He partners with Mrs. Lovett who bakes his victims into the tastiest meat pies in London.
