Lone Star Love cancels Broadway engagement

New York: The upcoming Broadway engagement of Lone Star Love has been cancelled. The musical was set to open at the Belasco Theater on December 3rd. It will now close after it finishes its run at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theater on September 3oth. Further plans after that will be announced when they become available.
Randy Quaid was set to make his Broadway debut in the musical starring as Colonel John Falstaff. Also starring is Robert Cuccioli as Frank Ford, Dee Hoty as Margaret Anne Page, Lauren Kennedy as Agnes Ford, Clarke Thorell as Fenton, Ramona Keller as Miss Quickly, Drew McVety as Doctor Caius, Dan Sharkey as George Page, Kara Lindsay as Miss Anne Page, Nick Sullivan as Sheriff Bob Shallow, and Brandon Williams as Abraham Slender.
Lone Star Love, which is inspired by Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor, was conceived by John L. Haber and features a book by Haber and Robert Horn and a score by Jack Herrick. The creative team includes direction and choreography by Randy Skinner, set design by Derek McLane, costume design by Jane Greenwood, lighting design by Ken Billington and Paul Miller, and sound design by Tom Morse. John Rando serves as the creative supervisor.
