Gaslight closes today

London: Gaslight plays its final performance today at the Old Vic. Starring in the production is Rosamund Pike, Kenneth Cranham, Andrew Woodhall, Rowena Cooper, and Sally Tatum.

The creative team includes design by Hayden Griffin, lighting design by Hartley TA Kemp, music by David Shrubsole, and sound design by David McSeveney. Peter Gill directs.Gaslight was first staged in 1938 and was twice made into a film, once in 1940 and again in 1944 in which Ingrid Bergman won an Oscar for her performance.Gaslight is the powerful story of a young woman psychologically dominated by her husband. While Jack Manningham is out on the town each evening, his wife, Bella, stays at home alone, believing she's losing her mind. Questions about Jack's behaviour and true identity are aroused following the unexpected arrival of Detective Rough.
