Lone Star Love to play the Belasco

New York: The 2004-2005 Off-Broadway musical, Lone Star Love, has announced dates for its Broadway run. The musical will begin previews at the Belasco Theater on November 1st and officially open on December 12th. Prior to Broadway the musical will play an engagement at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre from September 8th through the 30th.
In addition to dates and a theater initial casting for the production has also been announced. Randy Quaid will lead the cast as Colonel John Falstaff. Joining him will be Robert Cuccioli as Frank Ford and Dee Hoty as Margaret Anne Page.
Lone Star Love, which is inspired by Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor, was conceived by John L. Haber and features a book by Haber and Robert Horn and a score by Jack Herrick. The creative team will include direction and choreography by Randy Skinner, set design by Derek McLane, costume design by Jane Greenwood, lighting design by Ken Billington and Paul Miller, and sound design by Tom Morse. John Rando will serve as the creative supervisor.
In the play Confederate Colonel John Falstaff works his charms on the wives of two wealthy cattle ranchers, with an eye on their husbands’ land and money.
