New York: The first production in The Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park, Romeo and Juliet, plays its final performance today at the Delacorte Theater.
Lauren Ambrose and Oscar Issac star as the star-crossed title characters. The rest of the cast includes Camryn Manheim as Nurse, Opal Alladin as Lady Capulet, George Bartenieff as Lord Montague/Apothecary/Cousin Capulet, Dan Colman as Paris, Michael Cristofer as Lord Capulet, Saidah Arrika Ekulona as Lady Montague, Brian Tyree Henry as Tybalt, Owiso Odera as Benvolio, Austin Pendleton as Friar Laurence, Timothy D. Stickney as Prince Escalus, and Christopher Evan Welch as Mercutio.
The ensemble features Ari Brand, Anthony Carrigan, Tiffany Danielle, Seth Duerr, Quincy Dunn-Baker, Christian Felix, Susan Hyon, Orville Mendoza, Jeff Omura, Lucas Papaelias, Mary Rasmussen, Michael Rossmy, Cornelius Smith, Jr., and Alexander Sovronsky.
Next up in the park is A Midummer Night's Dream which opens on August 23rd.
Performances of Shakespeare in the Park will be Tuesday Through Sunday at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are free and will be available on the day of the performance (two per person) at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park beginning at 1:00 p.m. and at The Public Theater, 425 Lafayette Street (near Astor Place), from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The closest entrances to the Delacorte are at 81st Street and Central Park West or 70th Street and Fifth Avenue.
