London: The West End production of Equus plays its final performance today at the Gielgud Theatre. Headlining Peter Schaffer's play is Daniel Radcliffe as Alan Strang and Richard Griffiths as Martin Dysart. The rest of the cast includes Joanna Christie as Jill Mason, Jenny Agutter as Hesther Saloman, Karen Meagher as Nurse, Jonathan Cullen as Frank Strang, Gabrielle Reidy as Dora Strang, Colin Haigh as Harry Dalton, and Will Kemp as Nugget.
The creative team includes design by John Napier, lighting design by David Hersey, and sound design by Gregory Clarke. Thea Sharrock directs.
A 12-week U.K tour of the play will begin on August 28th at the Theatre Royal in Bath. Casting for that production has yet to be announced. The play is also likely to make a Broadway run in the Spring of 2008. It is still undetermined whether Daniel Radcliffe will be able to star in that production.
