London : Patricia Hodge will join the West End production of Boeing-Boeing as Bertha on April 30th. The actress will replace Frances de la Tour.
Hodge was last seen in the West End in Noises Off . Some of her other theatrical credits include The Clean House, His Dark Materials, Heartbreak House, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, Noel and Gertie , and Separate Tables .
Currently starring in the production is Roger Allam as Bernard, Frances De La Tour as Bertha, Mark Rylance as Robert, Tamzin Outhwaite as Gloria, Michelle Gomez as Gretchen, and Daisy Beaumont as Gabrielle.
The production, written by Marc Camoletti, has been adapted and translated by Beverley Cross, and is directed by Matthew Warchus. The creative team includes scenic design by Rob Howell.
In the play, Bernard is an English playboy in Paris who is able to juggle his three air-hostess girlfriends because of their different schedules and with the help of his long-suffering housekeeper, Bertha. The arrival of the new double-speed Super Boeing changes everything.
