London : Dianne Pilkington is set to replace Helen Dallimore as Glinda in the West End production of Wicked on July 16th. Dallimore will play her final performance on July 14th.
Pilkington's theatrical credits unclude the touring productions of Cats and Beauty and the Beast , The Far Pavilions, Tonight's the Night, Taboo , and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs .
Wicked currently stars Kerry Ellis as Elphaba, Helen Dallimore as Glinda, Adam Garcia as Fiyero, Nigel Planer as the Wizard, Katie Rowley Jones as Nessarose, James Gillan as Boq, and Martin Ball as Doctor Dillamond.
Wicked tells the incredible untold story of the legendary Witches from L. Frank Baum's classic The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. In the musical two girls meet in the land of Oz. One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, feisty and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very, very popular. Wicked is the story of these two unlikely friends and how they end up as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch.
Based on the novel Wicked by Gregory Maguire, the musical features music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, book by Winnie Holzman, scenic design by Eugene Lee, costumes by Susan Hilferty, and lighting by Kenneth Posner. Joe Mantello repeats his Broadway directing duties
