Moving into the New Ambassador's will be Steve Thompson's Whipping It Up . The play will begin previews on February 22nd and officially open on March 1st.
Whipping It Up premiered at the Bush Theatre on November 10, 2006. Cast members from that run who will star in the West End production include Richard Wilson, Robert Bathurst, Lee Ross, Nick Rowe, and Helen Schlesinger. New to the cast will be Kellie Bright.
The creative team includes set and costume design by Tim Shortall, lighting design by Simon Corder, sound design by Fergus O’Hare, and direction by Terry Johnson.
In the production, it's a week before Christmas, and the new Tory government is facing dissent over its latest Bill. With a majority of only three, the Whip's office is out in full force, and they'll stop at nothing to keep the strays in line. But they're in for a long night: boy scouts are rioting in Whitehall, the PM's golfing with the President, five Tory rebels are on the loose and the Chief Whip's playing at Santa - could this be the beginnings of a leadership challenge?
