New York : The full cast has been announced for Manhattan Theater Club's upcoming production of Charles Busch's Our Leading Lady .
The cast will feature Reed Birney as Gavin DeChamblay, Barbara Bryne as Maude Bentley, Maxwell Caulfield as Harry Hawk, Ann Duquesnay as Madame Wu-Chan, J.R. Horne as Major Hopwood, Kate Mulgrew as Laura Keene, Kristine Nielsen as Verbena Morris, Amy Rutberg as Clementine Smith, and Billy Wheelan as W.J. Ferguson.
The play will begin previews on February 22, 2007 at City Center Stage II and officially open on March 20th.
The creative team features direction by Lynne Meadow, set design by Santo Loquasto, costume design by Jane Greenwood, lighting design by Brian MacDevitt, and sound design by Scott Lehrer.
In the play, Laura Keane is a 19th-century American stage luminary who is preparing to perform at Ford’s Theatre on the fateful night when Abraham Lincoln is in the audience.
