San Francisco : The national tour of Jersey Boys kicks off today at San Francisco's Curran Theater.
Starring in the production is Deven May as Tommy DeVito, Erich Bergen as Bob Gaudio, Michael Ingersoll as Nick Massi, Christopher Kale Jones as Frankie Valli, John Altieri as Bob Crewe, and Joseph Siravo as Gyp DeCarlo.
The ensemble features Miles Aubrey, Erik Bate, Sandra DeNise, Jennifer Evans, Rick Faugno, Eric Gutman, Nathan Klau, Brandon Matthieus, Jackie Seiden, Jarrod Spector, Taylor Sternberg, and Melissa Strom.
The musical ran at the La Jolla Playhouse in 2004 and was extended three times. Directed by Des McAnuff, Jersey Boys follows the story of the Four Seasons, and how four blue collar boys became the singing sensation behind such hits as “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” Oh What A Night,” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You.”
The production is currently playing at the August Wilson Theater. Starring as the foursome on Broadway are Christian Hoff as Tommy DeVito, Daniel Reichard as Bob Gaudio, J. Robert Spencer as Nick Massi, and John Lloyd Young as Frankie Valli.
The musical features a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, music by Bob Gaudio, and lyrics by Bob Crewe.
