New York: The London revival of Eugene O'Neill's A Moon for the Misbegotten is set for a Broadway transfer. The Associated Press is reporting that the production will begin previews at the Brooks Atkinson Theater on March 29, 2007 and offically open on April 9th. All three stars from the London production, Kevin Spacey, Eve Best, and Colm Meaney will star in the Broadway run, and that Howard Davies will direct.
A Moon for the Misbegotten opened at the Old Vic on September 26th. Its run will end on December 23rd.
In the play, Josie is a towering woman with a quick tongue and a ruined reputation who lives in a dilapidated Connecticut farmhouse with her conniving father, Phil Hogan. Together they're a formidable force as they scrape together a livelihood. But Josie's softer side is exposed through her love of Jim Tyrone, Hogan's landlord and drinking buddy - a third-rate actor whose dreams of stardom were washed away by alcohol.
