London: Colm Meaney has joined the Old Vic's production of A Moon for the Misbegotten. The actor, who will play Phil Hogan, joins the previously announced Kevin Spacey and Eve Best.
Meaney is most known for his roles in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine. His London theater credits include Juno and The Paycock.
Eugene O'Neill's A Moon for the Misbegotten, directed by Howard Davies, will begin performances at the Old Vic on September 15th and open on September 26th for a run through December 23rd.
The creative team includes design by Bob Crowley, lighting design by Paule Constable, music by Dominic Muldowney, and sound design by Christopher Shutt. Howard Davies directs.
In the play, Josie is a towering woman with a quick tongue and a ruined reputation who lives in a dilapidated Connecticut farmhouse with her conniving father, Phil Hogan. Together they're a formidable force as they scrape together a livelihood. But Josie's softer side is exposed through her love of Jim Tyrone, Hogan's landlord and drinking buddy - a third-rate actor whose dreams of stardom were washed away by alcohol.
