The musical's pre-Broadway tryout will take place at San Francisco's Orpheum Theatre from January 23, 2007 through February 25th.

Jerry Mitchell makes his directorial debut with the production. He also serves as choreographer. Nell Benjamin and Laurence O'Keefe have written the music and lyrics, Heather Hach has written the book.

The creative team includes set design by David Rockwell, costume design by Gregg Barnes, lighting design by Kenneth Posner, and sound design by ACME Sound Partners.

The 2001 film starred Reese Witherspoon, Selma Blair, and Luke Wilson. No casting has been announced for the musical.
