New York: The Times They Are A-Changin', based on the music of Bob Dylan, has announced the dates for its Broadway premiere. The dance musical created by Twyla Tharp will begin previews at the Brooks Atkinson Theater on September 25th and officially open on October 26th.
Starring in the Broadway run will be Thom Sesma, Caren Lyn Manuel, Michael Arden.
The ensemble will feature John Selya, Lisa Gajda, Charlie Hodges, Luke Longacre, Jason McDole, Jonathan Nosan, Ron Todorowski, Alex Brady, Lisa Brescia, Marcus Choi, John Herrera, Alaine Kashian, Keith Kuhl, Marty Lawson, Joseph Putignano and Jason Wooten.
The creative team features direction and choreography by Twyla Tharp, set and costume design by Santo Loquasto, lighting design by Donald Holder, and sound design by Peter Hylenski.
The Times They Are A-Changin' is set within a low-rent traveling circus run by Capt. A. Rab, whose wagon hasn't moved from its location in some time — though not by lack of effort from his ragtag band of clowns and performers which includes such performers as the animal trainer Cleo, a young woman exploited by Capt. Arab and loved by his son, Coyote. Coyote longs for a world outside the confines of the family business, and as the circus show plays out, he must decide whether to flee or stay, and if he does stay, how to inspire change within the troupe.
Tickets will go on sale through www.ticketmaster.com to American Express Priority Cardholders on Wednesday, July 12th. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Sunday, August 6th. Tickets will be available in-person at The Brooks Atkinson Theatre Box Office (256 West 47th Street) beginning Sunday, September 10th.
