New cast set for Scoundrels

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels centers on two con men living in the French Riviera. The first, a small-time crook named Freddy Benson, swindles women by waking their compassion with fabricated stories about his grandmother\'s failing health. New York: Changes are abound for Broadway's Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Replacements have been announced for Jonathan Pryce and Norbert Leo Butz, who, as previously reported, will depart the musical on July 16th.
Keith Carradine and Brian D'Arcy James will join the production on July 20th as Lawrence Jameson and Freddy Benson.
Gregory Jbara, currently starring as Andre, will leave the musical on July 23rd. Richard Kind will take over the role on August 3rd.
In addition to those casting changes, Sherie Rene Scott will return to the role of Christine Colgate on June 20th. Rachel York has been filling in.
Carradine has appeared on Broadway in The Will Rogers Follies, for which he received a Tony nomination, Foxfire, and Hair.
Brian D'Arcy James is currently starring in Broadway's The Lieutenant of Inishmore. His other Broadway credits include Sweet Smell of Success, Titanic, Carousel, and Blood Brothers.
Richard Kind has been seen on Broadway in The Producers, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, Bounce, Rough Crossing, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, All in the Timing, and Things You Shouldn't Say Past Midnight.
Scoundrels opened on March 3, 2005 and currently stars Jonathan Pryce, Norbert Leo Butz, Lucie Arnaz, Rachel York, Gregory Jbara, and Sara Gettelfinger. The production was nominated for 11 Tony awards.
