New York: The sold out Broadway revival of The Odd Couple starring Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick plays its final performance today at the Brooks Atkinson Theater. The comedy was originally set to close on April 2nd, but was extended once.
The Odd Couple opened at the Brooks Atkinson Theater on October 27, 2005 to just average reviews. The re-pairing of Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick helped the show to rack up over $21.5 million in advance ticket sales so the reviews made no difference.
The rest of the cast includes Mike Starr as Murray the Cop (a replacement for Brad Garrett who originally starred), Lee Wilkof as Vinnie, Rob Bartlett as Speed, Peter Frechette as Roy, Jessica Stone as Cecily, and Olivia d’Abo as Gwendolyn. Joe Mantello directs.
