George Wendt joins Twelve Angry Men tour

George Wendt is set to join Richard Thomas as Juror #1 in the upcoming tour of Twelve Angry Men. The tour, directed by Scott Ellis, will launch on September 19, 2006 at the Shubert Theater in New Haven, Connecticut. The tour will also make stops in Washington D.C., Baltimore, Minneapolis, Atlanta, Louisville, Cincinnati, Chicago, Houston, Seattle, Miami, and Philadelphia. It is set to run through May 2007.

Wendt is most known for his Emmy nominated role as Norm Peterson in Cheers. His theater credits include Art and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.Broadway's creative team is on board for the tour. They include set design by Allen Moyer, costume design by Michael Krass, lighting design by Paul Palazzo, and sound design by Brian Ronan.Twelve Angry Men opened at the American Airlines Theater on October 28, 2004 and was set to run until December 19th. Due to popular demand, it was extended seven times until May 15, 2005.In Twelve Angry Men a jury is deliberating what seems to be an open and shut murder case. As prejudices are tested and evidence weighed, the entire jury is forced to look past the show of the court to unearth the shocking truth.
