New York: When Ring of Fire begins performances on February 8th at the Barrymore Theater, Cass Morgan will not be amoung the cast members. Morgan recently underwent surgery and is currently recovering. Although no specific date has been announced, she is expected to rejoin the musical before its opening on March 12th. Understudy Melanie Vaughan will fill for her while she is out.

In a statement, producer James B. Freydberg said, "We are very sad that Cass will not be able to join us for the beginning of our Broadway journey in a role that she created. Having been with the production from the world premiere in Buffalo, she is an important part of this production. We are lucky to have Melanie Vaughan, who has graciously stepped into the production until Cass has recovered."
